Sylvie Sarkissian
Sylvie, from Georgia, Russia, has Master of Composition and
Conducting from Georgian State Conservatory. She is the founder and
conductor of Georgian Folk Choir “Origins”, and has composed and
arranged pieces for mixed chamber choir and orchestra. While living in
Georgia, Sylvie wrote music for films and theater plays. She has
performed as a pop singer starting the age of 10, and was a lead singer
for Croatian pop group of Nikica Kalogjer, which was broadcasted on
Georgian national radio. Sylvie has also been as a singer and piano
player for private parties since 1998. She loves to sing Leonard
Cohen’s works as well as Sephardic, Russian and Armenian songs, and is
fluent in several languages.
